Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing Technician to support the assembly and installation of pumps and plumbing systems for our custom fire trucks. This hands-on role focuses entirely on technical work and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. If you have pipefitting experience, welding skills, and a strong understanding of plumbing systems, we’d like to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Install heat exchangers with valves as requiredInstall master drains, primer controls, pump shifts, discharges, front and rear bumper connections, bleeders, and auto drainsWeld pipes as needed to complete installationsConnect plumbing lines to gauge panelsInstall tank level displaysUse conventional and precision measuring instruments effectivelyPerform process inspections to ensure quality weldsOperate MIG welders and plasma cutters on various metalsApply pipefitting and basic plumbing knowledge in assembly workSafely operate hand and power toolsRead and interpret truck specifications, technical drawings, and manualsWork collaboratively with team members and assist peers as neededQualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or degree in plumbing or pipefitting preferredVocational training or experience in plumbing, fabrication, or shop work consideredStrong knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and basic plumbing systemsTIG welding certification preferredAbility to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and work instructionsProficient with hand and power toolsBasic math skills for measurements and calculationsStrong communication skills; able to work independently or as part of a teamPre-Employment Requirements
