Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Overview : We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Portsmouth, VA.
The SLP will play a crucial role in providing essential speech and language services to students, collaborating closely with educators, families, and caregivers to enhance communication skills and support academic success.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders among students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions based on assessment findings, focusing on students' specific speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in group settings, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students' speech and language goals within the classroom and educational environment.
- Monitor and document students' progress through regular progress reports and updates, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to support students' academic and developmental goals.
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in speech-language pathology through professional development opportunities and continuing education.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for certification.
- Virginia state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred; experience in a school setting is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
