Crossing Guard
Reporting to the Crossing Guard Manager, the Crossing Guard will direct and guide children and pedestrians across traffic intersections, and perform related duties as required. The Crossing Guard will be held accountable for the following responsibilities :
- Stop traffic to ensure the safety of school children and other pedestrians crossing at designated intersections
- Signal to pedestrians indicating when streets are safe to cross
- Guide and assist children and other pedestrians across intersections
- Maintain order as children approach the intersection
- Report traffic violations to supervisor and provide vehicle description including license plate number, make, model and color
- Inform supervisor of traffic signal malfunctions and construction projects on assigned posts
- Respond to requests for geographic directions from the public
Note : Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of application
Hours : Monday through Friday based on school schedule 2 hours a.m. and 2 hours p.m. (Split Shift)
Working Conditions : Prolonged exposure to inclement weather conditions & loud noise
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Crossing Guard must possess the following qualifications :
