Chicago, IL Hybrid 3 days onsite

18 Month W2 Contract

Remote Risk is the FICC wide risk engine application with critical components utilized across business line technology teams.

The Remote Risk team requires a technical business analyst with experience in distributed risk systems to work directly with our technology partners.

The resource will work on the management of a large infrastructure plant and engage with LOB technology teams, specifically on capacity management, business continuity planning, and application management.

As we continue to onboard new businesses to Remote Risk the demands on the scalability of the infrastructure and key components will continue to rise.

There is also large demand on infrastructure governance that requires dedicated management. In this role, the daily interactions with the Quartz core and LOB technology teams, and external technology groups are high.

It is critical to have a project manager to interact closely with the teams to ensure that the relevant application / infrastructure activities are closely managed.

Remote Risk has a large scale infrastructure we therefore need a skilled technical project manager that can develop a deep understanding of the system and its architecture over time.

Remote Risk utilization is in a growth period as we continue to support high profile regulatory programs; such as Strategic Full Reval program(SFRC), Fundamental Review Of the Trading Book(FRTB), Counterparty Credit Risk(CCR).

Therefore, we require a resource to help manage the growth and reduce operational risk.

Position Summary

Background : The FICC Risk technology team is responsible for developing risk solutions to the global fixed income, currencies, and commodities business.

The primary focus of the team is on building scalable risk reporting and generation tools for use across the business. End users include trading desks, senior trading management, market risk management and other middle and back office groups.

FICC Risk technology is a global team of highly skilled and motivated developers using agile methods to iterate quickly and work closely with users to deliver superior trading technology.

The role offers the opportunity to join a team responsible for managing a large plant used by all line of business for generating end of day and intraday risk.

Areas of focus include application management and resiliency, capacity management, tooling, regulatory compliance and most importantly production stability.

The team development environment is Quartz - the banks next generation trading and risk platform. Quartz consists of various pieces of shared infrastructure and code to drive consolidation across the trading business and break down business specific silos.

Development takes place almost entirely in Python, with some C++ for high performance components.

  • Successful candidate will be able to gain first-hand experience in operating in a horizontal platform used by all lines of business for generating end of day and intraday risk.
  • Successful candidate will operate in a collaborative environment where people work together to solve non-trivial challenges.
  • Successful candidate will be exposed to a range of challenging and stimulating projects are being run as part of the FICC Risk Quartz program.
  • Successful candidate will work with a global team supporting a global business.

Key Responsibilities

  • As the business analyst, they will have the responsibility and management of enterprise deliverables pertaining to the global platform.
  • Working with a globally dispersed team of developers, DevOps and release management members.
  • Provide expertise leadership, including design and proposals for effective management of the application.
  • Technical writing in response to various regulatory assessments and inquiries.

Required Skills

Analytical Thinking / Elastic (ELK : Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) / Distributed Computing

  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders across technology and the business.
  • Deep understanding of DevOps concepts and tooling across environment, CI / CD, monitoring and infrastructure capacity management.
  • Technical analysis and project management.
  • Testing, deployment and support using agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in application management and knowledge in disaster recovery principles.

  • Knowledge of Software development principles and support using agile methodologies.
