The is currently recruiting to fill a Teacher (Food Service Production) position. This position is based out of Oshkosh Correctional Institution in Oshkosh, WI (Winnebago County).

Position Summary

The teacher will develop and implement a program of professional vocational educational services to students in the area of Food Service Production in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs.

This include teaching a total of six (6) class periods each day in the Institutional Food Service Production Program which may include, but is not limited to the following : Basic Foods 1 & 2, Food Service Math, Baking, Sanitation & Safety, and Internship.

The teacher will complete, in a timely manner, all required documentation, student assessment / progress and other reporting requirements.

The teacher will monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffings, meetings and serve on both school and institution committees as well as serving effectively as an interdisciplinary team member for a housing center.

The teacher will, upon request, provide training to other staff, interns, etc. and engage in specialized instruction and special projects.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 13-04 with a starting pay of $29.13 / hour - $34.03 / hour .Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.

A probationary period is required.

This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification.

This add-on ranges from $0.97 / hour to $2.97 / hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the .

Job Details

Anticipated schedule will be Monday Friday 7 : 45 AM 4 : 30 PM. This position is FLSA Exempt. This position is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis, but most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

Qualifications

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • An Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in a field related to food. Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree will need to complete a Bachelor’s degree within a specified time frame to maintain employment.
  • Must possess current ServSafe Certification at time of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.Employee will be required to obtain and maintain certification as a ServSafe Proctor.

Minimally qualified applicants will have :

  • At least of two years of occupational experience related to food production.
