Deli / Seafood Cooks work as a part of the Deli / Seafood team, with an emphasis on cooking. The majority of their shift is spent cooking, but can also fulfill Deli / Seafood Associate duties :
Prepare and cook products in warm kitchen with temperature of oil and ovens up to 500 degreesFollow safe food handling guidelines whenever preparing food, according to S.A.F.E. program standardsMaintain appropriate temperatures and avoid cross-contamination throughout production and storageHas strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures / guidelines.Demonstrates the ability to work safely and adhere to safety standardsLearning and promoting our astounding variety of deli and seafood productsProcessing customer orders accurately and efficientlyWorking in varied temperature-controlled environment (refrigerator, freezer and hot food preparation)Provide exceptional customer service that goes above and beyondLearn and promote our variety of deli and seafood products and use suggestive selling techniquesProcess customer orders accurately and efficientlyOperate and clean equipment safely according to training procedures, by reading warnings, and following instruction manuals. i.e., knives, slicers, fryers, rotisseries, smoker, skewers, ovens, frying pans, hot case, microwave oven, rair oven, steamer, chicken warmer and case, hot food warmer, wrappers, cheese grater, and scalesPrepare party tray orders, follow directions from food specification book or order formWeigh, wrap, and label products using digital and manual scalesCut meats and cheeses using electric slicers according to training manual and customer requestsFill serving bowls with ready-made deli salads, and place in deli counter caseRotate products and check expiration datesEssentials
At least 18 years of ageHave strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures / guidelines.Read and locate basic information from food specifications books, follow recipes, charts, invoices, and temperature gaugesBasic computer, math and measurement skills (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, conversions, and percentages)Flexibility to work a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidaysPrompt and regular attendance based on your scheduleAdherence to our dress code, appearance and personal hygiene standardsA Hepatitis A vaccination (MO only)May be cross-trained in other departmentsPhysical Requirements
