Reporting to the Head Coach, the Associate Head Coach, Baseball will support the Baseball program by performing the following :
- This senior position will support all aspects of the GW Baseball Program and will partner with the Head Coach to execute these aspects :
- Recruitment of qualified athletes that will be academically successful and have baseball talents to be achievers on the baseball team.
Leads in the identification and recruitment of these student-athletes.
- This position is responsible for designing and implementing an effective strategy to coach, instruct, develop and retain current and prospective student-athletes.
- And leads in planning and organizing practices and development plans for all aspects of the game for the student-athletes.
- Assists in all advanced scouting and the preparing of video and game plan strategies, including the implementation and effective use of all technology and other training tools.
- Responsible for monitoring and supporting academic progress toward degree of all student-athletes. This includes meeting individually with student-athletes on their academic standing and progress;
attending Educational Support Services meetings and partnering with our team’s academic advisor to ensure the student-athletes academic progress.
Serves as the liaison to Educational Support Services.
- This person will formulate and coordinate with opponents, the GW HC and the GW DOBO for the fall and spring game schedules.
- This person is responsible for cultivating a positive, joyful and inclusive team culture that aligns with our universities and program’s values.
And will monitor all academic, social, and personal development of the student-athletes.
Will develop and maintain relationships and communications with students, colleagues, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and the general public.
This person is required to be a visible display, an example of discipline and excellence to our student-athletes. And foster this growth development with our student-athletes.
- This position requires the supervision in coordinating public relations, training and conditioning, and ensuring compliance with all rules, standards and regulations.
- Assists with budget management and team fundraising. Attending all budget meetings and promoting a stewardly manner. And be engaged in alumni relations and events to build relationships.
- Coordinates with the assigning of collegiate summer baseball activities for the student-athletes, with responsibilities including : summer collegiate league placement;
summer academic needs; and other activities related to the needs of the student-athletes in the summer.
The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC but will require domestic travel across the United States.
Performs other related duties assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications :
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 1 years of relevant professional experience.
Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in coaching baseball at an NCAA institution and previous college (preferably Division 1), professional, and / or international playing experience.
- Experience as a pitching coach.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit highly qualified student-athletes.
- Experience with fiscal management and daily operations of an intercollegiate athletics department.
- Strong organizational, management and communications skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Hiring Range
$51,455.52 - $70,708.76
