Registered Nurse (RN) – General Unit\n\nSchedule : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM (Days)\n\nRole Overview : \n\nThe RN is a professional caregiver responsible for providing nursing care to a group of patients within a designated time frame. The nurse applies the nursing process, incorporates current trends, and utilizes technology and resources in alignment with the institution’s philosophy.\n\nEssential Functions : \n\nPerform unit-specific nursing duties within the scope of service.\n\nImplement procedures and theories related to the nursing specialty area.\n\nMaintain accurate, timely documentation of nursing care in EPIC.\n\nConduct initial patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.\n\nImplement and modify plans of care through ongoing evaluation.\n\nEnsure patient and staff safety by reporting or correcting hazards / incidents.\n\nCommunicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and other healthcare team members.\n\nProvide constructive feedback for professional development and collaborate to expand knowledge.\n\nIdentify personal learning needs and proactively seek education.\n\nComplete all required departmental competencies.\n\nDepartment -Specific Responsibilities : \n\nComplete thorough patient assessments and document findings in EPIC.\n\nRecognize and report normal and abnormal clinical findings to physicians promptly.\n\nDevelop and set patient care plans and goals.\n\nEstablish IVs in patients older than 8 years.\n\nAdhere to the “five rights” of medication administration for all patients.\n\nParticipate in the surgical “time out” process alongside OR RN.
