Internal Position Title : Principal Scientist I

Position location : Cambridge, MA, onsite

About the Role :

We are currently looking for a motivated and creative Principal Scientist to join an interdisciplinary team that combines chemical biology, covalent drug discovery, mass spectrometry, cell biology, and informatics technologies to tackle this challenge.

Key Responsibilities :

• Proposing, designing, and evaluating novel assays and chemotypes to tackle longstanding challenges in covalent ligand discovery.
• Effective communication and collaboration as a critical member of multi-disciplinary project teams in early stage drug discovery and covalency-enabled exploration of new modalities.
• Biochemical, biophysical, and cellular characterization of protein-ligand interactions, including MS-based characterization of covalent adducts on proteins.
• Medium-to-high throughput compound screening.

Essential Requirements :

• PhD in Chemical Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Science with at least 2 years of related postdoctoral and / or industry experience.
• A background in covalent ligand discovery with an emphasis in biophysics or cellular studies and a working knowledge of organic chemistry.
• Knowledge of the concepts governing compound binding affinity and reactivity, kinetics, and selectivity as well as experience with design and application of affinity- and reactivity-based chemical probes.
• The ability to work collaboratively, with autonomy, and thrive in a multitasking environment.
• Fluent English (spoken and written).

Desired Requirements :

Experience with covalent chemoproteomics principles and data.

Salary Range : $112,800.00 - $169,200.00
