Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg Tele RN with recent Epic experience and prior travel nursing experience for a resource float assignment.
Responsibilities
Work as a float RN covering Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units in a teaching hospital setting
Assignment is 32 weeks in length with 12-hour night shifts
Required to float between Med / Surg and Telemetry units as needed
No on-call responsibilities are required
Must work every other weekend and a flexible schedule to meet unit needs
Holiday coverage required for at least 2 out of the 4 major holidays : Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day
Epic EMR experience within the past two years is required
Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
No block scheduling options are permitted
Reliable personal transportation is required, as public transportation is not accessible in this area
Vehicles should have all season or snow tires between November and April due to seasonal weather
Candidates should be prepared for variable patient acuity in a teaching hospital environment
Requirements
Active VT or compact RN license required (candidates without VT licensure must apply within 24 hours of accepting an offer)
AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS must be current prior to start)
A minimum of 2 years of Med / Surg Tele RN experience required
Prior travel nursing experience is required
Teaching hospital experience is required
Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is non-negotiable
PCCN and orthopedic certifications are preferred but not required
