The Opportunity :

Under general supervision, manage Fleet Small Arms, Night Vision and Force Protection equipment and conventional ordnance inventories for 190 surface combatants.

Management of logistics support for all Small Arms and Night Vision issues including development, evaluation, validation and training.

Responsible for providing guidance to U.S. Navy Surface Forces in requisitioning and procurement of required Small Arms Weapons / Mounts and return of excessive quantities.

Occasional travel to Florida, Hawaii, Virginia and Washington will be needed to perform on-site inspections, assist with removal and / or installations, demonstrate appropriate preventative maintenance and provide hands-on training of various Small Arms equipment.

Responsibilities :

Serves as member of installation team and performs a wide variety of intermediate level activities associated with installing, maintaining and servicing electrical / electronic / mechanical equipment.

Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies and tests various types of small arms equipment and related devices.

Understand and interpret general electrical & mechanical drawings.

Schedule and host all COMNAVSURFPAC (CNSP) / COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL) ordnance workshops.

Conduct inspections with Crewmembers of a various classes of ship’s Ready Service Lockers, security alarms and communication circuits.

Apply technical knowledge of Small Arms principles in order to solve problems and placing equipment in cost-effective operational condition.

Utilize logistics search tools and information obtained from NSWC Crane Small Arms Registry, DLA, NAVICP, One Touch and Haystack.

Review, analyze and submit Allowance Change Request (ACRs) for changes to Allowance Parts Lists (APLs) and Allowance Equipment Lists (AELs) for CNSP.

Establish weapons and force protection allowances for new construction ships.

Review and recommend updates on CNSP policies and various TYCOM instructions pertaining to Operational Forces.

Draft and submit ECP (Engineering Change Proposals) and Naval messages.

Coordinate frequently with Program Managers (PMs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Supervisor of Ship Building (SUPSHIP) personnel on all mounting design and modification matters.

Builds, develops and maintains productive relationships with Customers and Vendors while maintaining a high level of quality technical service.

Works closely with others regarding scheduling and general technical requirements.

Maintain project folders that show project phases from beginning to close-out.

Provide reports of all activity, data and information collected.

Travel approximately 50% of the time to CONUS and OCONUS (non-combat zone) locations.

Typically requires high school diploma, and at least 10 years of related experience (5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree)

Technical training equivalent to an Associate’s Degree preferred.

Active Secret Security clearance.

Navy Instructor (NEC 9502) experience

Quality Assurance Program Management

Certified Small Arms, Range Instructor

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.

The proposed salary range for this position is :

$61,600 - 129,300 USD
