The Opportunity :

We are seeking a senior level strategic and innovative Entertainment Market Research & Strategy Senior Vice President to partner with our senior team and to manage the Content Development & Content Testing areas of the business, leading us to the next level of innovation and business growth.

This role will report into the EVP who oversees all of the entertainment teams at NRG, and will also collaborate with other senior leaders in the business regularly collaborating with other entertainment team leaders, product line leaders, syndicated product line leaders and those in business growth roles.

Team Leadership & Future Leader Creator Our Content Testing team is made up of world class researchers who bring unmatched industry expertise, a global perspective, and passion for helping shows and films reach their full potential and to speak to the right audiences.

We’re looking for someone with outstanding people management skills who can grow people into the next generation of leaders, managing at least 2 teams (4-7 people per team).

This is not an Individual Contributor role.

You can lead and develop multiple teams.

You can manage others who are people managers themselves, and you are an effective manager of individual contributors as well.

You’re able to manage senior talent at the VP level who are experts in their own fields, with many years of experience, pushing senior level people to keep growing in their careers and skillsets.

You’ll help to build the vision for the entertainment practice areas and set a vision for your specific teams so they will deliver best-in-class, highly consultative research for our clients.

You’ll not only manage your teams on the day-to-day, but also lead teams with vision, inspiring them to achieve personal and team goals, striving to achieve their best, growing and elevating world class talent.

You don’t need to be the one to claim the credit or send the email.

You’ll keep teams focused on client objectives based on your client-side experience, coaching them on what clients are really in need of, how to best deliver and how to build client trust and relationships in the process.

You can deal with and troubleshoot any complicated issues that arise within your team, with clients, on projects, in an efficient and effective manner.

Trusted Client Advisor Proven experience cultivating and fostering multiple relationships with clients, or client-side stakeholders, with multiple career examples of leading strategic insights-driven decisions and outcomes.

Your well-developed research acumen allows you to build trust quickly and lead multiple client relationships at once.

You’ll easily find insights that address client’s needs and objectives, focused on uplevelling our strategic recommendations in reporting with visual, creative and story-driven approaches.

You’re able to find the right strategy and advice for the business question and provide recommendations that clients and their stakeholders feel are well-founded and practical to implement based on your client-side experience on what is and what isn’t strong and actionable advice.

You’ll uplevel our team’s abilities to provide stronger recommendations where necessary in the process.

You have a track record of delivering to clients and stakeholders exactly what they need, exceeding their expectations and delivering above and beyond as an outstanding consultant and trusted advisor, without the need for endless revisions.

Through this consistency in delivering strong work and building up relationships, you get to the next level of relationship building, advising clients at large and able to provide proactive recommendations on future projects or strategic research initiatives more easily.

Serve as a trusted partner to clients, fully understanding their overall business objectives and strategically strengthening the relationship.

Growth and Revenue responsibility This role will require accountability, commercial acumen, and responsibility to revenue targets each calendar year.

You’ll understand the direction of the industry and your client’s businesses and be able to collaborate in setting ambitious revenue targets that grow year after year for your teams.

You’ll be held accountable to those targets and expected to devise a product and account strategy roadmap to achieve targets.

You’ll easily be able to maintain current revenue levels through excellent team and client management, and push to expand the work clients do with you in your areas of focus.

You take great pride in building and finessing capabilities presentations around our core product lines and competencies, leading to new open doors at existing and net-new client organizations.

You get excited when new RFPs come in and are full of ideas and enthusiasm to want to win the work with the strongest possible proposal and approaches.

You’ll lead and collaborate on initiatives to grow, including active participation in new business pitches, the creation and maintenance of product line credentials, proposal development and thought leadership initiatives.

You’ll also identify and gain growth opportunities with existing clients to expand into new methodologies or product lines across the business (i.

e. for other teams like Syndicated Entertainment Products, Custom Entertainment Tracking, Platform & Brand, Corp Rep, Gaming, etc.).

Similarly, you’ll be entrepreneurial in nature and excited by the idea of proactively pursuing and bringing to NRG net-new Client Relationships.

You’ll already have a strong network within the entertainment industry that you can reach out to and bring to NRG in your first few months.

Ideally, you enjoy networking (i.e. client outreach, social lunches and dinners, industry conferences etc.). You can be a voice and presence at conferences and industry events, networking to represent NRG.

Note that in order to connect with clients in person, we believe this role needs to be based in or close to LA or NY.

Research & Reporting Rigor This role requires an expert level understanding and experience with a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, also looking to experiment with new methodologies and approaches, and drive methodological excellence in how our teams approach our various existing offerings in the content space.

You’ll oversee work such as greenlight and concept testing, script-based development research, testing pilots / episode 101, binge tests and film tests (online and in person), approaching with methodological excellence.

You’re able to consider and include more complex marketing sciences designs, approaches and analysis where beneficial.

You can see how reporting gets from long sentences and long reports to something that’s easily digestible for the highest-level executives and decision makers.

You understand how to help others craft a story around data insights and clearly communicate key points in a succinct manner.

You are masterful at presenting and bringing a story to life.

Innovation This is a core part of your role and responsibility within the team and the industry. You’ll oversee a range of innovation initiatives across the Content testing business.

You’re able to see problems and create to solve them, creating new methodologies, new frameworks, developing new technologies for our clients, and collaborating with others to disrupt the status quo.

You’ll have an always-on innovation mindset; always thinking about opportunities for improvements within our existing work, product line offerings, and methodologies.

You’ll have a vision for brand new offerings that address a gap in the marketplace that we should be developing to bring to our clients or to develop in partnership with clients, to solve their biggest problems.

You’ll be able to map out a vision for innovations, drive those initiatives forward, develop communications and credentials around new initiatives and products, and lead to fruition and adoption from clients.

Who We're Looking For :

You have 15+ years of experience in the entertainment space, ideally with a mix of client side and vendor side experience.

You live and breathe all things entertainment and enjoy staying up to date on industry trends and developments.

You are a strong people manager with a proven track record of managing medium and large sized teams to reach their full potential as individuals and as a collective as this role will lead multiple teams, and help create the next generation of leaders.

You are able to work across streamers, networks and theatrical studios, improving upon our already industry leading content development and testing services in TV and Film, establishing relationships with entertainment and branded content clients who are new to NRG, leading client pitches and developing proposals around content-focused product lines, and providing senior leadership on wider strategic research initiatives, innovations and projects both internal and client-driven initiatives.

You will bring your intellectual curiosity, relentless research rigor, entrepreneurial mindset, and storytelling ability to lead research initiatives that help answer important strategic questions around content.

You are genuinely interested in seeking the whys. You can solve complicated questions using creative and collaborative tactics.

While you’re an experienced and seasoned executive in our industry, you’re also a big team player who can work collaboratively and harmoniously within and across teams.

You will roll up your sleeves to help get the job done and no task is beneath you. You actively participate in team calls to foster a positive team culture and demonstrate leadership to aspire to.

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Compensation :

To comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $185,000-$225,000.

Actual compensation is influenced by many factors including skill set, level of experience, having some client-side experience and location.
