Role Overview

For most people, shopping for a vehicle is an experience we'd rather forget. Navigating a sea of endless options, spending hours at the dealership and negotiating toe-to-toe with a dealer who does all this every day leaves automotive shoppers feeling exhausted and overwhelmed while hopeful, but not sure, they got a vehicle in good condition for a fair price.

Autolist is on a mission to rewire the automotive industry by making it easier for everyone to find and get a vehicle they love.

We are creating an on-demand automotive shopping experience for every stage of the automotive life cycle - buying, selling, owning - and we're well on our way.

As a Senior Business and Product Analyst, you will sit at the center of our data-driven team, leveraging analytics to inform how we grow our business and improve our products.

You'll become an expert in all facets of business analytics and have an end-to-end ownership and understanding of revenue and business operations KPIs.

The decisions you help drive daily will directly impact the financial performance and growth of the business. You will be responsible for key insights around our core business capabilities in a way that propels our overall growth and strategic focus.

You will work closely with engineering, marketing, and business operations to inform the design of solutions to important and challenging problems within the automotive shopping experience.

What You'll Do

  • Own and develop KPIs and metrics related to business unit revenue and product performance
  • Develop new strategies, lenses, and dashboards for analyzing the Autolist business
  • Own product event data structure in support of business and product analytics
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis across disparate data sources to understand the performance of our business strategy and identify potential business opportunities and risks for mitigation
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to manage event tracking and testing to enable product managers to understand the business impact of feature releases
  • Be a thought partner with decision-makers, translating business questions into hypothesis-driven data analysis and communicating the results through visualizations and presentations
  • Partner, share, and present data findings with stakeholders and internal teams
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally by using data to identify, validate, and recommend growth performance improvement ideas;

define metrics to evaluate business performance and experiments; build reports and dashboards to monitor and understand them

  • Be a voice and advocate to use data to improve the quality of our decision-making
  • Mentor other product and engineering partners on technical and professional development

What You'll Bring

  • Ability to influence multiple partners to adopt new data-driven approaches and achieve shared business goals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to use hypothesis-driven analysis to address business questions directly
  • BS or BA degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, analytics, or economics or an equivalent demonstrated analytical work experience
  • At least four years of related experience in a business environment responsible for analysis and reporting, including data visualization and related tools (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI), that ultimately influenced business decision-making
  • Consulting or consumer technology / marketplace experience a plus
  • Expert knowledge in SQL and Excel
  • Basic Python understanding and experience
  • Fluency in data modeling and data movement / ETL concepts
  • Excels in data ambiguity yet derives the best possible insight
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses / incentives, and restricted stock units.

US base salary range

$115,000 $150,000 USD
