Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UMKC School of Medicine seeks a Research Assistant / Research Associate with excellent cell / molecular biology, histology / immunohistochemistry / in situ hybridization, and animal experiment skills to participate in research projects related to placental diseases and pregnancy complications.

The duties will include but are not limited to :

  • Performing molecular, cell biology, histology, and animal experiments;
  • Assisting the PI and other researchers in different research projects in the lab;
  • Coordinating with clinical research teams;
  • Analyzing and interpreting research results;
  • Participating in the preparation of manuscripts;
  • Developing and participating in scientific research projects as needed;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Research Assistant must have a Bachelor's or equivalent degree.

Research Associate requires a PhD.

Qualifications for either position :

  • Experience in animal care and breeding;
  • Proficiency in tissue processing and histological techniques is required.
