Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Location : Missouri (Remote)
Job Type : Full-Time Work From Home Contract
Pay : $32 / Hour
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct virtual lessons and provide direct instruction in core subjects and specialized skills, such as braille literacy, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of visually impaired students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and updates to parents and school administrators.
- Utilize a variety of digital tools and resources to create engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of visual impairment education.
- Provide support and training to parents and caregivers to enhance their ability to support their child's education at home.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification with an endorsement in Visual Impairment.
- Experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
- Proficiency in braille and other assistive technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
- Technological proficiency, including familiarity with virtual learning platforms and adaptive technologies.
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
