Position Overview : Our client is seeking a seasoned Estimator with extensive experience in Heavy Civil Construction. The Estimator will be adept at take-off plans and estimating projects, and will quickly become self-sufficient in their role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from construction plans.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive project estimates.
- Supervise and mentor junior estimators and support staff.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate project scopes and budgets.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Experience in Heavy Civil Construction estimating.
- Strong background in estimating projects related to heavy highway, bridge construction, utility work, or marine projects.
- Ability to quickly become self-sufficient and work independently.
- Engineering experience is a plus, but not required.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in relevant estimating software and tools.
