About The Position

ID : 61362555 Shift : day Description : Position full-time, quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care. May include some work at our local Long Term Care facility.

Treats all patient age ranges and diagnoses within the State of Alaska s occupational therapy scope of practice. Includes home visits, village travel, and frequent collaboration with medical providers and requires strong didactic skills due to Alaska s Direct Access privilege for occupational therapy.

Incorporates evidenced-based medicine into patient plans of care. Exemplifies professional conduct, patient care ethics and respect for cultural diversity when rendering patient care.

Modifies patient care plans appropriately, using age-specific and patient-specific considerations. Supports the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation s mission statement Working Together to Achieve Excellent Health.

Position s degree from an accredited program in Occupational TherapyMinimum Experience : No minimum clinical experience required but is preferred.

Licensing / be licensed in good standing in Alaska as an OT or have a good-standing license of Occupational Therapy in another state and awaiting licensure in Alaska.

Must also hold a current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Current BLS.

Equipment / Tools : ?Office equipment (i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine)Hospital Occupational Therapy Department environment includes hi-lo table, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound and electric stimulation modalities, ADL training room (includes bathroom and kitchen).

a treatment table is provided. Therapist brings out what is needed for patient care (theraband, exercise programs, etc.).

Specialized Knowledge and to read, analyze, and interpret occupational therapy periodicals and medical literature.Ability to compose patient care documentation and medical correspondence.

Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, peers and administrative personnel.Ability to communicate effectively with members of a different culture who may or may not speak English.

• Supervisory Responsibilities : Periodic self-assessmentFor Housing is not provided. All housing units are shared units. - Initial Airfare to YKHC will be "reimbursed" upon candidate's arrival (This is only based on the average cost of a plane ticket, if the candidate brings additional items,they will be responsible for the cost) - Cab vouchers may be provided based on the employee's proximity and distance to the hospital (this is done at the discretion of the Hiring Manager).
