Co-Op Environmental Scientist/Geologist Technician

We are looking to bring on a Co-Op to serve as an Environmental Scientist Technician, Environmental Engineering Technician, or Geologist Technician assisting office engineers, field staff, and project managers with day-to-day project tasks.
This is a full-time role that will be 4-6 consecutive months beginning Spring of 2025 . Please note : the start date is flexible depending on your schools’ co-op program.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get some hands-on, working field experience and be a valuable contributor to our project teams.
This role will be based out of our Boston, MA office location.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will :
- Assist with maintaining on-site health and safety expectations.
- Serve in a field support role, working on interesting and technically challenging projects. Field activities may include : sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil gas, and / or indoor air, aquifer testing, and oversight of remedial actions.
- Assist office engineers and Project Managers with the planning and execution of site characterization, subsurface investigations, and remedial actions.
- Communicate with the project team and prepare field reports.
- Review design drawings, specifications, and environmental reports.
- Assist with evaluation of subsurface environmental data.
- Assist staff with collection of necessary compliance data through basic field data collection techniques using instruments dust monitors, remediation equipment, cameras, pumps, and other tools as needed.
- Express a willingness to visit project sites to assist in the field with our environmental compliance and remediation service group.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Candidate should be at least 2 years into their academic career.
- Candidate should be enrolled in an environmental science, geology, or engineering educational program (undergraduate or graduate).
- Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
- Lifting and physical work will be required.
- Be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and provide input on safety issues.
- Computer Skills Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in all MS Office software.
- Driver’s license highly preferred.
- Ability to work for 3 or more consecutive months on a full-time basis.
