About The Position
Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Job Specialty : Sterile Processing Technician in Surgical Services Job Duration : 12 weeks Shift : Day 5x8-Hour (12 : 00 - 20 : 30), Monday-Friday Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : At least 2 years of experience required, with acute hospital OR or ambulatory surgery center experience preferred License : Must have a valid license Certifications : CBSPD-Preferred, IAHCSMM / HSPA-Preferred Must-Have : - Experience with decontamination and disinfection of chemical agents- Proficiency with disinfectants, high-level disinfection, manual cleaning, proper labeling, ultrasonic cleaners, and use of washers / sterilizers- Specialty equipment processing experience in areas such as Ear / Nose / Throat, General, Laparoscopic, OB / GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry, Robotics, Urology, and Vascular- Cerner experience preferred but not required Job Description : - Perform decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instruments and equipment- Ensure proper handling, transportation, and storage of sterilized instruments- Maintain compliance with established procedures and standards for sterilization and infection control- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to sterilization processes and equipment- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of sterilization equipment- Participate in orientation and training sessions as neededPlease note, first-time applicants for this role will not be accepted, and there is no weekend coverage or on-call requirement.
