About The Position
Job Title : Respiratory Therapist - Neonatal ICU Job Specialty : RRT-NICU Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night 4x12-Hour (18 : 30 - 07 : 00) Guaranteed Hours : Experience : Minimum 2 years, must have 1 prior travel assignment License : MD State License or Compact License Certifications : Required : BLS, CRT, NRP- Preferred : ACLS, PALS, RRT Must-Have : Ability to float between adult and neonatal patient populations- Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs- Work setting skills in Adult Critical Care, NICU Job Description : Responsible for airway management using various devices and techniques including, but not limited to, endotracheal tube / suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement, and more.
- Administration and management of respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, and others.- Set up and manage aerosol treatments, utilizing equipment like nebulizers, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), trach collar, BiPAP, and CPAP.
- Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage umbilical blood gases.- Proficient in using Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, Servo U, and charting in Cerner.
- Requirement to work every other weekend, and must be willing to work holidays.- Engage in pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection.
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABG) and provide necessary care adjustments.- Participate in continuous learning and complete required modules before and during orientation.
Additional Requirements : Must adhere to vaccine requirements including receiving the flu vaccine.- Required attendance at a teaching hospital and short-term acute care facility.
Ceil Blue scrubs are to be worn (not provided).
