Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to perform standard engineering assignments usually representing a significant portion of a larger project or ownership of multiple small or medium-sized projects.
They also select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations. The Senior Project Engineer normally receives minimal instruction on routine work, and general instructions on new assignments.
As a Senior Project Engineer for the Collins Aerospace Interiors Inserts group, you will be part of an international team of engineers responsible for innovating, designing, and maintaining designs of various galley equipment such as ovens, beverage makers, chillers, and refrigerators.
This Lenexa, KS-based role is looking for a disciplined and result-driven individual with excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
The position works onsite at our Lenexa, KS facility.

Primary Responsibilities
- Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment.
- Directs preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects.
- Provides technical leadership to a group of temporarily assigned engineers and technicians.
- Ensures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
- Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications / Experience Needed :
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws / regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Minimum 3 years of Product Design Engineering experience (i.e., using CAD or similar design applications).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience mentoring others.
Understanding of electronics, engineering processes, and IT tools.

Salary Range : The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
