The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position will deliver care to patients in the psychiatric setting. The LPN will collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

The LPN will effectively interact with patient, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Collaborates with documentation for ongoing patient data under the supervision of the RN. Collaborates with RN on the patient's plan of care and reports pertinent information to the multidisciplinary team.
• Administers medications as prescribed. Accurately document all medication as per facility protocol. Coordinates with patient to sign medication consent form.
• Draws labs and providers wound care as ordered
• Supports Care Coordinators managing the milieu and gathering information regarding the needs of patients
• Provides education regarding physical health, psychiatric diagnosis, and treatment to the patient.
• Uses verbal de-escalation and therapeutic interventions to de-escalate patients that are potentially dangerous
• Can describe and demonstrate thorough knowledge of seclusion and restraint standards and guidelines, including documentation of seclusion and restraint incidents, as required.
• Can describe and demonstrate thorough knowledge of SafeClinch standards and guidelines, as required.
• Records all care provided concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, as per the facility protocol
• Will attend supervision sessions as required.
• Will complete all other required trainings as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned
• Depending on setting, may also float among various clinical services within the market, where qualified and competent

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications :

• Graduated from an accredited Nursing program with licensure by the state Board of Nursing
• Unrestricted license as Licensed Practical Nurse through the state Board of Nursing
• At least 1 year of psychiatric, behavioral health, or relevant experience
• Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain upon hire

Preferred Qualifications :

• Previous crisis care or emergency room experience
• Previous experience with state specific court ordered services
• Food Handlers Card desired or willingness to obtain or willingness to obtain has context menu
