Job Description :
The Director of Talent Management will be responsible for the talent management functions of the College including the full recruitment cycle, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and appreciation programs.
The incumbent’s primary function will be to develop, implement, and evaluate the policies and processes for recruitment, retention, and development of employees while aligning with the goals and objectives of the College.
This position works at a strategic level regularly collaborating with the Provost office, LITS staff, and other campus constituents.
Though the Director will have at least one direct report, they also may be required to perform daily tasks and responsibilities to ensure everyday operations and procedures are completed in a timely manner.
As a member of the HR team, this position is essential to employee and community service and experience. The incumbent must feel comfortable working in an often fast-paced organizational framework with shifting and evolving responsibilities.
This position collaborates with other HR staff, and a variety of other College offices to meet the department goals, and further the mission of the department and the College.
This position participates as a committed member and leader of the Human Resources team in college and division committee work, projects, meetings, events, and overall community development.Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service skills to include responsiveness, providing a friendly approach, and problem-solving.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HR best practices, particularly around recruitment, retention, and development.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving areas of employment (e.g. compensation, EEO, ERISA).
- Proficient with technology (Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite or related software, HRIS, payroll systems, and similar employee management software).
- Strategic, creative, entrepreneurial, and innovative thinking and ability to exercise sound judgement.
- Understanding of a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, linguistic, ethnic backgrounds and disabilities within a community of college students and staff;
- Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
- At least three years of experience in human resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of best practices in higher education human resources services such as academic years, faculty / dean positions, etc.
- Proficient with or experience with Workday.
- Experience in a supervisor or management capacity.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
