Position Details

Position Description

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Immunology, at the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) in the Seattle Children's Research Institute (SCRI) is recruiting a faculty member at the Assistant Professor level without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), on the Clinician-Scholar track, commensurate with experience and qualifications, to contribute to clinical care in our growing clinical pediatric allergy service.

Anticipated start date is Fall 2024.

The successful candidate will join a diverse faculty of clinicians, physician-scientists, and scientists to participate in the diagnosis, treatment and advancement of knowledge and novel therapeutics for people with inborn errors of immunity and allergic disorders.

The successful candidate will contribute to a growing outpatient allergy clinical service, would have the opportunity to develop a food allergy program and participate in an eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorder clinic, and participate in a robust inpatient and outpatient consult allergy service at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The Division co-directs the University of Washington, Allergy and Immunology Fellowship program, and is strongly committed to the training of Allergy and Immunology Fellows.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity of teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, fellows and junior faculty.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).

Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The base salary range for these positions will be : Assistant Professors MD $12,867 - $19,300 per month ($154,400 - $231,600 annually), Assistant Professors Non-MD $7,680 - $11,520 per month ($92,166 - $138,250 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.

S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University.

Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations.

Compensation provided by Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Must have MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent). Must be Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in ALLERGY / IMMUNOLOGY and must be eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington.

Completion of residency training in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine-Pediatrics and fellowship training in Allergy / Immunology is also required.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.

S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
