Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for the plant Resident Engineering team including Applications, Release, Manufacturing Systems, Design Engineering, Liaison Engineering, and Fleet Programs
- Coordinates Engineering support for Production, interfacing with internal and external Plant Departments and Divisions
- Acts as a liaison between Production and Division Engineering, working to maximize Materials and Production visibility for orders and design changes
- Provides feedback to Division Engineering and drives design improvements
- Supports new product pilots, prototypes, and implementations
- Participates in quality reviews and drives resolution of engineering and quality related issues
- Participates as a member of the Plant Manager Core staff to develop, promote, and support Department, Plant and Division goals and initiatives
- Champions continuous improvement initiatives, PACCAR Production System (PPS), Six Sigma projects, warranty reduction projects
- Champions and tracks accuracy and efficiency improvements within plant Resident Engineering
- Champions and tracks Engineering Ready metrics measuring quality of engineering output
- Champions and tracks Chassis Definition Change Order (CDCO) metrics measuring quality of engineering output
- Leads and supports Division / Corporate wide initiatives as assigned
- Evaluates and authorizes deviations from standards
- Manages Resident Engineering Department budget and staffing
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required with BSME or BSEE preferred; MBA / Post Graduate and PE license preferred
- 5+ years experience required
- Demonstrated ability gained through 5+ years closely related and progressively important engineering assignments
- Demonstrated self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, formulates plans, and executes plans to achieve improvements while meeting day-to-day demands
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and lead cross-functional teams
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to create and deliver formal, executive presentations
- Ability to develop talent and lead high performers

The salary range for the Resident Engineering Manager is $110,600 - $173,000 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
