Our Opportunity :

Chewy is hiring a Software Engineer for our Customer Engagement Platform Engineering Team. Our engineering team is responsible for building and managing the tech stack supporting our Customer Relationship Marketing and its services.

The team is building platform capabilities and high performing services that are focused on delivering of highly personalized messages to our Pet Parents across Chewy’s on and off-site marketing channels (email, push, Chewy.

com, Chewy app, social media handles).

Chewy’s mission is to empower pet parents to make smarter decisions about products for their

pets. We look to provide impact by providing pet parents relevant information when they show

intent in purchasing pet product. In this role, you will work cross-functionally across Product, Design, Technology, Merchandising, Customer Service, Operations, and Executive teams to create, build, and execute the Customer Engagement Platform features and capabilities.

What You'll Do :

You will be responsible for design, development, delivery and support of large-scale,

distributed software and tools.

  • Design and implement data integration services and reusable frameworks.
  • Adhere to enterprise architecture and coding standards.
  • Actively participate in architecture and code reviews to deliver high quality code.
  • Actively participate in scrum ceremonies such as grooming, planning, demos and retros.

What You'll Need :

  • 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the programming languages such as Python / Java / GO.
  • Knowledge of cloud & orchestration technologies (AWS Services).
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software

development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control

management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Experience with designing, building, and deploying scalable, highly available systems
  • Strong communication skills as well as experience in mentoring and educating your peers.
  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience.

Bonus :

  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
  • Experience developing CI / CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Experience building / integrating with low latency streams / batch and high-volume

data integration services.

Compensation & Benefits :

Our salary range for a job title position is $91,000 - $160,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.

In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Non-exempt hourly team members accrue paid time off (PTO) while salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval.

Non-exempt hourly team members in Fulfillment Centers and Customer Service are also eligible for additional unplanned unpaid time off (UTO).

Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.
