- Qualifications / Requirements :
- In this position you will serve as the information technology systems specialist for the Geographic Combatant Commander’s (CCDR) Communications Team, responsible for the technical management, control, and Configuration of the Commander’s communications systems.
Maintains a comprehensive grasp of both current and emerging technologies.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain & maintain a Top Secret / SCI Security clearance.
- Must possess a current / valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
- This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position
- This a Mission Essential Position, the incumbent must be removed from the Ready Reserve and may not become a member of the Ready Reserve.
- The incumbent is required to achieve both the foundational and resident qualification requirements outlined for each defense cyber work role at the assigned proficiency levels.
Foundational qualification within 9 months of assignment; resident qualification within 12 months of assignment.
- Knowledge of a full range of network systems (LAN / WAN) design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements.
- Knowledge of the network architecture, interrelationships, operating modes, configuration topology, and protocols typically found at the base level.
- Knowledge of the concepts and methods of performing network operations, systems maintenance, and troubleshoot various problems.
- Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques and requirements appropriate to managing mobile voice and data devices and systems.
- Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary and make sound decisions.
- Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how it can be used to meet future IT requirements.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy.
- Knowledge of methods, tools, and procedures, including development of information security plans, to prevent information systems vulnerabilities, and provide or restore security of information systems and network services.
