This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding.

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.

Purpose

This Communications Specialist Position will advance communication and marketing efforts for the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness (IMVFW) and it's Veteran Spouse Network (VSN) initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness (IMVFW) and it's Veteran Spouse Network (VSN) websites. Develop and implement plans to increase outreach and user experience.
  • Manage the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness (IMVFW) and it's Veteran Spouse Network (VSN) social media accounts.

Develop and post content. Manage incoming and outgoing communications. Develop and implement plans to increase outreach.

  • Create social media graphics, including but not limited to, print flyers, presentations, infographics, and posters.
  • Coordinate and manage the Institute for Military and Veteran Family Wellness (IMVFW) and it's Veteran Spouse Network (VSN) email inboxes and coordinate responses to inquiries with teams.
  • Coordinate with University communications departments including outside media entities and partners.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in communications or related field with at least 5 years' experience in online marketing and communications product / program management experience;

professional journalistic writing experience for digital channels; experience managing content on a large website; experience with information architecture, content creation and content strategy.

Excellent attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Values the contributions of others in the work environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in communications, marketing or related field with at least 5 years' experience in online marketing and communications product / program management experience;

professional journalistic writing experience for digital channels; experience managing content on a large website; experience with information architecture, content creation and content strategy.

Awareness of military culture.

Salary Range

$60,000 - $65,000 - depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Work Shift

M-F, Flexible between 8am-6pm

Employment Eligibility :

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
