MUST :
- Experienced CT Scan Technologist
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists
- Experience performing CT examinations
- Two years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
- Current CPR certification required
- CT certification
- Active DC License required
DUTIES :
- Performs all CT examinations according to department procedure manual and established protocols.
- Interviews patients (in / out) for history pertaining to CT exam. This history is to include unusual conditions or limitations and other pertinent information.
- Prepares and / or administers contrast media, oral and IV contrast.
- Monitors and observes any abnormal changes in patients color, respiration, heart rate and responsiveness.
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations, administers first aid / CPR as needed.
- Maintains emergency equipment in the room (to include O2, suction, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, Benadryl, Adrenalin, Epinephrine 1 : 1,000 and 1 : 10,000) to ensure availability.
- Provides radiation protection to patient staff and self according to prescribed radiation safety standards.
- Assists and / or moves patients independently to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and CT scan table (27" from floor).
- Prepares patients for procedures according to established Radiology Department protocols.
- Handles multiple situations and the stress associated with frequent interruptions of the workflow.
- Assists radiologists in IR CT examinations including but not limited to biopsies.
- Uses hospital information system, via EPIC to access laboratory results for exam related information.
