LOCATION SUMMARY :
Nestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959.
Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. San Luis Obispo offers the excitement of a lively community while being a fifteen-minute drive from the serenity of Avila Beach, known for their natural hot springs, and Pismo Beach, known for their sand dunes and eucalyptus trees.
Featuring a charming downtown, comfortable coastal weather, idyllic views, and an active lifestyle San Luis Obispo offers much to be had.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Orients to the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients on the medical / surgical unit. This position orentates to the care of age-related physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of the following age groups of patients : Adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Includes, but not limited to : Care planning, vital signs, medication dosages, physiological changes, and psychosocial needs.
Orients to the supervising and delegating of care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice.
EDUCATION :
- A.S. or equivalent : required
- B.A or B.S : preferred
REQUIRED LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS :
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- CA RN License
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
Must be able to follow instructions, work quickly and accurately in a fast paced environment. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
