Monday - Friday 5x8 schedule 6 : 00 pm - 2 : 30 am

$23.12 - $32.37 USD Hourly

Histology Technologist will learn how to perform all routine procedures in orienting, sectioning, and staining tissue specimens to produce slides which will aide pathologists in diagnosis.

the training occurs with our experienced Histotechnologists (level II and up) in all facets of histology.

You Will :

• Embed, cut, and stain tissue blocks according to designated procedures
• Maintains productivity standardsMicrotomy 20 blocks / hourEmbedding 50 blocks / hour
• Prepare reagents and stains according to designated procedures
• Submit derms and one-steppers : provide backup for Grossing Tech when needed
• Learn and maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements
• Assist in maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed
• Perform or assist with advanced staining
• Perform or assist with validation studies
• Assist in operational oversight
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Education / CertificationsAssociates degree in science, HT ASCP registry eligible, and / or being On the Job Trained (OJT)

Bachelor’s degree in science, HTL ASCP registry eligible, and / or being OJT

Skills and Abilities

Previous laboratory experienceKnowledge in medical terminologyAbility to use a organizational skills and attention to time management skills with a proven ability to meet analytical and problem-solving to prioritize to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
