Electrician

Summary :

Aegis has a 2 openings for electricians with a client in the Sauk Village IL area. Day shift- 7 am-7 pm.

Night Shift 7 pm-7 am.

$26-40 an hour + night shift premium.

Responsibilities :

• Thorough knowledge of three phase electricity, 110, 220, 440, AC and DC current. Must be able to troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair high voltage as well as control wiring.
• Analyze, repair or replace solid state controls and power boards.
• Install all types of electrical equipment, i.e. wires, motors, controls, lighting, etc.
• Know how to use and understand results of using voltmeters, ampmeters, oscilloscopes and / or other electrical metering devices when troubleshooting.
• Know proper wire sizes and uses.
• Read and write schematics and wiring diagrams for controllers and panels.
• Have good electrical / electronic analysis abilities and be able to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Know and understand electrical codes.
• Have the knowledge, skill, and ability to assist and train others in electric / electronic areas.
• Perform all duties in a safe efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Provide guidance when working with other maintenance personnel on electrical / electronic systems.
• Responsible for reporting food packaging safety problems to plant management.
• In the incumbents absence these responsibilities will be transferred to another Maintenance Electrician.

Requirements :

• 4+ years of experience as an electrician
• Industry / setting- plastics, packaging, food or beverage.
• Mechanical abilities - use of hand tools, basic knowledge of machine repair, able to assist mechanics when needed.
• Familiar with welding, light brazing and soldering.
• AC / DC Motors - troubleshoot abilities on motors and drives. Up to 480V
• PLCs- able to at least troubleshoot them. Programming would be great
• Ladder relay logic- able to read and understand schematics and able to layout and wire.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints
• Panel layout- design panels to include wiring and controls. Able to also document all panel layout and design!
• Electronic controls- able to analyze issues and repair electrical controllers- cycle timers, temperature controllers, pressure controllers.
• Computer abilities- able to use a PC when troubleshooting digital, microcomputers and microprocesses controls.
• Experience with GMP, sanitation, chemical controls, and food safety plans & policies.
• Able to carry out food packaging safety and quality responsibilities.
• Make sure candidates are comfortable on their feet, able to bend, get in tight corners, ETC.
