A non-profit organization is partnering with LHH to search for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for their team. This is a temporary to hire opportunity for someone who has at least a year of previous payroll processing experience.
You will be responsible for processing payroll for at least 300 employees and be partnering closely with the HR team to ensure that benefits are administrated properly.
You must have strong customer service and communication skills since you will be handling internal inquiries for the team.
Responsibilities :
- Process bi-weekly payroll for around 300 employees accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, and bonuses as per company policies and applicable laws.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax requirements.
- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information in the payroll system.
- Prepare and distribute electronic pay statements and reports to employees.
- Assist with payroll-related reporting, including payroll summaries, tax filings, and audits.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and budget management.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll matters.
Requirements :
- Proven experience of at least a year as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing numerical data.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
