We are looking to hire a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in working with patients to identify payment options and create payment plans.
This position is responsible for translating healthcare services rendered, into a standardized medical billing code that can be used to obtain payment from insurance companies.
Responsibilities :
- Manages a high volume of incoming and outgoing payments for medical services.
- Interprets patient charts and medical codes to determine how much is owed.
- Submits claims to patient insurance.
- Documents billing information and maintains patient accounts.
- Investigates denied claims to ensure reconciliation as soon as possible.
- Provides customer service to patients and insurance companies.
- Mail / file / scan correspondence between facilities such as hospitals, insurance companies, and clinicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications :
- One (1) year of Medical Billing Specialist experience is required.
- High School Diploma is required.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Proficient with electronic health records software.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
