Lead Project Engineer/Solutions Architect -Security Clearance Eligibility Required

Job Summary The Lead Project Engineer / Solutions Architect (LPE) designs or oversees the design of technical solutions by prescribing COTS or custom components, both hardware and software.

This includes providing technical oversight, leadership and guidance to other Systems Engineers, Hardware Engineers, and Software Engineers throughout the design and development life cycle.

For this particular role, the LPE must have a deep understanding of flight simulation systems and architectures, to include dome, AR / VR / XR visual and COTS motion system integration.

The prospective LPE should be able to lead a team through technology stacks and frameworks, and industry standards and protocols.

Rotary simulation is a plus, but not required; your first leadership role will be to head the design through delivery of multiple Sikorsky FTDs.

Collaboration with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams is required to define system requirements, constraints, goals, and solutions.

Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment and be able to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities / Duties / Functions / Tasks Analyzes requirements and applies standard engineering methodologies to design technical solutions by prescribing custom-developed components and / or existing technologies and frameworks.

Lead team to produce specifications, design documents, and architecture diagrams that define a system's components, interfaces, and behaviors.

Leads technical discussions, presenting proposals, and providing recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Provides guidance and technical leadership to development teams during the implementation phase, ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines and best practices.

Manages and mentors junior architects and technical staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Collaborates with cybersecurity personnel to ensure that systems and applications meet established security and compliance standards.

Reviews existing systems and applications to identify opportunities for improvement and modernization. Researches and evaluates emerging technologies and trends to identify their potential impact on existing and future solution designs.

Provides input to the Project Manager regarding technical decisions and risks. Works in a fast-paced development environment with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands simultaneously.

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a Bachelor’s or higher degree in engineering or a related field.

Substitutions : Related professional experience cannot be substituted for the educational requirements. Experience with development and delivery of application hardware / software.

Experience with unit testing, system testing, and acceptance testing. Experience with programming languages and hardware / software engineering design patterns.

Experience with building to requirements and / or synthesizing requirements. Experience with hardware / software interfaces Configuration management tools experience required.

10+ years of experience, 15+ years preferred. Flight simulation experience required, rotary preferred. Essential Mental Requirements Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication.

Able to focus on multiple projects at once. Organized and detail oriented . Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentation.

Ability to analyze problems using scientific and logical thinking. Ability to operate in a high-paced work environment.
