THE POSITION
The Quality & Continuous Improvement Lead will report to Wondercide’s Executive Director of Manufacturing Operations and play a critical role in continuing to fully establish a structured commitment to LEAN Methodology in all levels of the Operations Team.
The role will be tasked with ensuring we achieve buy-in with team members touching the process on a daily basis. This role will be responsible for leading improvement projects, maintaining a list of ongoing opportunities, serving as a Change Champion, facilitating Kaizen events, conducting LEAN training, and delivering measurable improvements.
The successful candidate will have a strong command of LEAN SIX SIGMA, KAIZEN, and the TOYOTA PRODUCTION SYSTEM. Initially, this role will be focused on executing the existing Operational Excellence plan, then assist in developing future initiatives as we continue on our journey.
Key Responsibilities :
- Project Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for projects targeting improvements in Production, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, & Mixing.
- Demonstrate exceptional project management skills, maintaining focus on key milestones and driving projects to completion on schedule.
- Track quarterly & annual performance to a cost reduction target.
- Maintain an ongoing list of projects for us to evaluate & prioritize, proactively targeting opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitation
- LEAN Basics & RCA training for 100% of the Operations Team.
- Facilitate KAIZEN events, often using a modified approach that covers multiple weeks rather than 2-3 day events.
- Facilitate additional relevant training, as needed.
- Achieve Results
- Support the development of an annual continuous improvement cost reduction target, tracking performance and providing updates quarterly & annually.
- Lead a Campaign approach to enroll the team in establishing waste identification as a daily habit.
- Active & Supportive
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the Operations Team in completing Kaizen Charters, Waste Observations, Root Cause Analysis (5 Why’s), and in completing business justification forms for all projects.
- Be present on the floor and conduct independent observations, as well as analyze data that is available.
The QA / CI Lead will be expected to adapt and take on new responsibilities and implement new processes and systems as the company grows.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Military experience considered in lieu of education requirement.
- At least 3 years of work-related experience with Lean or Continuous Improvement Programs.
- Verifiable certifications in LEAN, LEAN SIX SIGMA, TPS, KAIZEN Facilitation, or other relevant continuous improvement training.
- Experience in leading the implementation and utilization of Lean practices and tools strongly preferred (Kaizen, PDCA, CL, 5S, APTs, etc.).
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Evidence of Change Leadership.
- Project management experience.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, etc.
- Able to communicate effectively with every level of the organization, using a variety of methods (Direct / In-Person, email, slack, presentations, etc.).
- Direct experience in Tiered Management preferred.
