Maintenance Electrician

BASIC FUNCTION :

Perform diverse duties to maintain repair andinstall a variety of production machines facility equipment andelectrical panels circuits and PLCs.

Work from work orders printsschematics wiring diagrams manuals preventive maintenance recordsand instructions in the performance of designated duties.

PRIMARY DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES :

• Troubleshootdiagnose and repair a variety of production tool room and materialhandling equipment involving stamping presses automatic coilingpunch press multislide 4slide grinding heat treating andmiscellaneousmachines.
• Disassemble equipment asnecessary replace and / or rebuild defective components and partssuch as motors gears bearings shafts fittings and controlsreassemble and check for properoperation.
• Rebuild production machines teardown units check and replace worn parts and fittings reassembletest and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintainand troubleshoot building heating ventilation air conditioning aircompressor and environmental control system problems analyze natureof the problem disassemble units as necessary and replace worn ordefective component parts and units reassemble test andadjust.
• Layout install and / or repair electricalpower lines and make necessary control panel connections.Installation and repair include electrical panelscircuits.
• Perform preventive and scheduledmaintenance activities electrical oil and lubricate conveyorsmaterial handling equipment building equipment and productionmachines change filters empty dust collectors inspect materialhandling equipment and maintain and update required reports andrecords.
• Install new equipment run in requiredpower water and air lines make necessary connections balance loadsand install necessary venting and safetydevices.
• Perform miscellaneous buildingelectrical carpentry plumbing cement and roof work activities asrequired and / or as assigned.
• Order parts andsupplies as needed.
• Perform maintenanceinspection tours as scheduled as well as maintain and updatecorresponding logs.
• Follow lockout / tagoutprocedures at all times when working on machine and / orequipment.
• Operate forklift forremoval / installation of machinesubassemblies.
• Follow safety rules and keepwork area in a clean and orderlycondition.
• Notify Supervisor of unusualequipment problems.

POSITIONREQUIREMENTS ANDSPECIFICATIONS :

• Sixto ten years of mechanical with electrical experience workingwithin a manufacturing environmentrequired
• Proven safety record andstrong work ethic.
• Able to work 1st or modified1st shift established schedule. Overtime may berequired.
• Must possess machine and equipmentknowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair electrical panelscircuits and PLCs.
• Equally skilled inmechanical repairs and knowledge of stamping presses and peripheralcomponents along with multislides spring machines and heat treatovens pneumatic and hydraulic knowledgerequired.
• Proven ability to read electrical andmechanical prints. Must be able to operate a milling machine latheand related machine shop tools and hold required tolerances tocomplete mechanical repairs.

The ability to perform buildingmaintenance functions are alsorequired.

• Proficient in the use of a variety ofmachine tools precision inspection tools electrical test metershand power tools measuring tools electrical and gas weldingequipment and hand tools.
• Must be able to lift50 pounds without assistance and able to stand and / or kneel forextended periods of time.

ADDITIONALINFORMATION :

Incumbent isrequired to gain an intimate understanding of the company operatingpractices. Incumbent works closely with other departments and staffto help ensure production machines electrical and facility remainsup running and well maintained to ensure the ability to runproduction.

Must have a high level of energy beresultsoriented and have strong mechanical and electrical skills.Must be proactive persistent and able to handle multiple projectsand customers while simultaneously able to work successfully withina very fastpaced complex environment with rapidlychanging priorities.
