The Research Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is specialized in evaluation of speech, voice, and swallowing and collecting and analyzing validated tests across these domains and patient populations.
The SLP’s knowledge of the anatomy, physiology, and function of the aerodigestive tract uniquely qualifies this professional to aid in diagnostic, treatment, and research related data collection.
The SLP will collaborate with a larger team that will likely include Otolaryngologists, researchers, pulmonologists and / or various other research and clinical personnel.
Master’s level degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
Ohio Licensure in Speech-Language Pathology
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical setting is preferred
Advanced competency in completing Modified Barium Swallow Studies, Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing, and therapeutic delivery is preferred
