Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a world class Partner Development Specialist (PDS) to grow the AWS' Data (database & analytics services) business through our partners in the Americas.

In this role you will develop and execute go-to-market strategies that enable AWS partners to build solutions, offerings, and new capabilities that meet the needs of their customers.

This is a very exciting opportunity to work on the forefront of this exciting field alongside some of the most innovative companies in the world.

Activities include building and executing joint get-to-market and go-to-market plans using Catalyst-style sprints, educating partners on our services, helping partners innovate with our services, and unblocking challenges that our partners face in realizing business growth.

You will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall market adoption of partner solutions and capabilities.

You will also serve as a Data subject matter expert aligned to support partner management and partner sales teams.

In this role, you will work with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Systems Integrators (SIs) to build build and test Go To Market strategies aligned to key initiatives developed by the Industry & Solutions Center of Excellence (CoE).

You will work closely with other PDS' in your organization, CoE teams that develop these offerings, other AWS Business Development Managers, AWS sales, marketing, and the APO team. You will be expected to :

  • Develop and drive strategy to utilize the Catalyst methodology to achieve results and drive insights aligned to business needs.
  • Develop and drive business and technical enablement plans to partners to facilitate the implementation and operations of AWS services.
  • Promote top partners to AWS customers and sellers globally
  • Work with regional leads to identify and develop partners globally
  • Develop and drive promotions, funding benefits, and incentives as appropriate
  • Gather, organize, and report back partner feedback (both technical and business) to help improve the customer and partner experience
  • Own communication strategy : Contribute updates to internal communication channels, and keep key stakeholders informed of changes, events, and opportunities.

You will have experience driving successful partnership initiatives at scale as well as a sales or business development background with demonstrated experience driving GTM motions.

You possesses a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges and a strong ability to dive deep into data to uncover business opportunities.

Working knowledge of and experience in the database and analytics services is required. Role can be based out of any Amazon office in the US.

Key job responsibilities

  • Execute GTM strategy to grow AWS Data business through consulting partners and technology partners in the Americas.
  • Support partners across different stages of their development including practice development, offering / solution development, enablement, and leveraging AWS programs.
  • Drive partner revenue through regular pipeline, opportunity registration, and business reviews with partners to exceed annual goals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, solutions architecture, product management, and other teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
  • Serve as an AWS database and analytics services subject matter expert who advocates for AWS partner capabilities internally and externally.

About the team

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success.

AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- - 7+ years of business development, sales, or alliance management experience in the software / technology industry

  • 4+ years of experience selling database and analytics related services or products.
  • 5+ years demonstrated ability to exceed sales, business development, or alliance management goals against annual growth targets for technical products
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders and driving strategic plans across various teams including solution architecture, product management, partner management, and account management teams
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience defining business goals and developing and executing go-to-market plans that exceed goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- - 10+ years of sales, business development, or alliance management experience in the software / technology industry

  • 6+ years selling database or analytics solutions with partners
  • BS or MS degree in technical field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
