Brief Description of Duties

The incumbent carries out a variety of duties to assist with the raising of private and other funds to support the operation and development of the School of Law.

Incumbent will engage in fundraising and grant writing. Incumbent reports to the dean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements major giving campaigns including scholarships, fellowships, experiential programs, and other support for the School of Law community, programs and activities.
  • Identifies individual, law firm, corporate, government and foundation funding opportunities and working with the Dean, the Dean of Experiential and Clinical Programs and the Alumni Director develops cultivation strategies for the prospects.
  • Develops brochures and other promotional materials as needed.
  • Manages and enhances planned giving program.
  • Coordinates and writes Direct mail packages.
  • Corresponds with appropriate foundation professionals, donors and prospects to develop and sustain productive working relationships to support the School of Law fundraising activities.
  • Assists the Dean to improve the public image of the School of Law and its programs.
  • Write and prepare reports and proposals as required to individual donors, foundations and others.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

An undergraduate degree and a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in institutional, event and individual fundraising.

Also prefer past management / supervisory experience and familiarity with major law firms.

Previous donor management software experience is appreciated and valued as well as strong personal communication skills that are both written and verbal.

Also seeking an individual who has experience with and understands the importance of various forms of donor communication device such as updates, newsletters or brochures.

Progressive and direct interaction with prospects and donors for cultivation and solicitations.
