Laboratory Technician
Duration
3 months, plus possible extensions
Qualifications
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree. A Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology or a related field is preferred.
- At least one year of related industry experience. Equivalent relevant experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidate will have hands-on experience with total combustion analysis, elemental analysis, calorimetry, Gas Chromatography (GC), NIR Spectroscopy, NMR, total oil analysis, colorimetry, falling number, farinograph, mixograph, bench-top wet chemical analyses, LIMS and the Microsoft Office Suite
Job Duties
- Receipt, identification, and preparation of samples ensure incoming samples are labeled correctly, appropriate analyses have been requested, prep and analyze samples according to ISO work instructions
- Prioritization of analyses according to customer needs matched to capacity; organization and coordination of projects in a high throughput lab environment;
obtaining analytical data; ensuring data integrity; functioning in multi-discipline teams and delivering laboratory results in an efficient manner
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Works under immediate supervision
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen will be required*
