We are currently looking for Direct Support Professionals that care for individuals experiencing developmental or intellectual disabilities or illnesses.

The Direct Support Professional is focused on helping adults with disabilities complete daily tasks and stay safe in their environment.

Their main duties include helping patients complete basic housekeeping tasks, transporting patients to appointments or other social outings and keeping patients safe from potential health hazards in their surrounding environment.

Direct Support Professionals are responsible for creating a safe, positive and encouraging atmosphere for their consumer.

They work closely with the consumer to enhance their decision-making skills and encourage them to engage in more activities that will help strengthen their physical and mental health.

Direct Support Professionals teach consumers how to complete certain tasks on their own to promote a more independent and satisfying lifestyle.

Shifts available

• Overnight
• Weekends

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DSP 1 & DSP 2 certification preferred.
• Certifications : First Aid, CPR, and CPI
• 1-2 years’ experience working with developmentally disabled adults.

This position requires finger printing, a DOJ criminal background clearance, satisfactory reference checks, health screening, negative TB test, and proof of full vaccination against Covid-19.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to regularly :

• Lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
• Stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and
• Hear, talk, smell and taste
• Walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl (or jog / run occasionally)
• Sit, climb or balance

Responsibilities :

• Assisting clients with daily personal tasks, including bathing and dressing, toileting and feeding.
• Completing housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, washing dishes and tidying.
• Assist clients with prescribed medication.
• Helping plan client appointments and organize a schedule.
• Organizing with transportation arrangements to appointments.
• Shopping for groceries and preparing meals that meet specific client dietary needs.
• Encouraging client engagement in social networks and communities.
