Your Job Georgia-Pacific's Gypsum division is searching for an Operations Manager for our facility located in Tacoma, Washington.

This position will be responsible for managing a team of employees (salaried and hourly) in a union environment.

This leader will have an understanding of manufacturing and will be accountable for the safety, quality and efficiencies of production results that are impacted by their team's performance and capability.

This position is a strategic position in the development of exceptional leaders across the organization.

The role, responsibilities, and expectations at the plant will offer unique challenges for the Operations Manager to tackle.

The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for the safe and environmentally compliant operation of facility Operations.

This position provides leadership and strategic direction to the facility through the application of our Principle Based Management (PBM®) Philosophy.

Our Team Our Tacoma facility has a rich history producing gypsum wallboard for a wide variety of customers.

  • Develop key business relationships and be a strategic part of the plant leadership team
  • Helping our teams get better through developing plans to close the gap between how we are doing and what is possible
  • Be accountable for employee and organizational development plans and people management strategies
  • Identify and align operational priorities with the business vision - ensure production and delivery of the highest quality products at the lowest costs, consistent with customer requirements, company plans and profit objectives
  • Partner with plant leadership to enhance facility performance and metrics - lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and develop innovative practices, methods and procedures that add value for the facility
  • Keeping our employees and communities safe through safe work practices and upholding our compliance standard
  • Spend time on the floor engaging with employees and oversee plant operations as appropriate Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Proven experience leading successful operations teams in a manufacturing, military or industrial environment
  • Experience leading improvement efforts in production, quality, or profitability
  • Gypsum manufacturing operations leadership experience What Will Put You Ahead
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience leading change management / transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of equipment servicing, planning / scheduling, supply chain management, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering, quality and corrugator / converting processes and equipment For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $170,000 per year.

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
