The LPN / RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations of an assigned nursing unit. This role ensures the highest quality of resident care in compliance with all applicable regulations, facility policies, and standards of nursing practice. The Unit Manager provides leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff, coordinates resident care, and collaborates with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members to promote positive outcomes and resident satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Supervise and direct the daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure consistent, high-quality care.

Oversee, guide, and evaluate nursing staff including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs on the unit.

Conduct daily rounds to assess resident conditions and ensure appropriate care plans are in place and followed.

Monitor documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with facility and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans.

Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and nursing protocols.

Participate in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure smooth transitions.

Assist in staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.

Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff, promoting teamwork and professionalism.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.

Support emergency response procedures and ensure readiness of staff and supplies.

Qualifications :

Current, unencumbered LPN or RN license in WI

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting preferred.

Supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Compassionate, professional, and resident-focused approach.
