Overview : Looking for a change? We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join our team in McLean, Virginia providing educational support to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

This position offers flexibility with caseloads in both resource and self-contained classroom settings. Immediate interviews are available, and we welcome out-of-state candidates who hold a valid Virginia teaching license or are eligible for reciprocity.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide specially designed instruction and accommodations to support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success in inclusive settings.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies and conduct functional behavior assessments as needed.
  • Monitor student progress through data collection and assessment to inform instructional planning and interventions.

Caseload Flexibility :

  • Opportunity to work with students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
  • Options to teach in resource rooms, providing support within general education classrooms, or in self-contained settings based on student needs.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Virginia teaching license in Special Education (or eligible for reciprocity).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
