The Estimator Level 1 is responsible for forecasting costs for potential field projects under the guidance of an Estimating Supervisor and / or Estimating Manager.

The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite, and experience in Trimble Enterprise is preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training

Experience : 1 to 2 years of electrical estimating experience

Education : Completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program (or equivalent work experience, 8,000 hours)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews specification information and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Attends job site walk-throughs with Senior Estimator and / or Estimating Supervisor as necessary.
  • Organizes bid components to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs takeoffs electronically on screen and from drawings (i.e., circuiting and scaling drawings, counting devices and equipment, etc).
  • Consults with clients, vendors, foremen, superintendents, and project managers to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Confers with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Finalizes and follows up on completed bids.
