Description : Position Purpose
Position Purpose
The Outside Sales Representative will help develop, maintain, and expand the customer base and achieve sales goals within Rockford Linear Motion and Rockford Ball Screw Industries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Research markets, identify opportunities, and monitor business market conditions in relation to competitor’s sales performance to improve internal sales performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships by communicating with customers (existing) and leads (potential).
- Maintain and manage sales pipeline, leads, and opportunities in Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
- Create and submit monthly sales reports to management.
- Work closely with inside sales team member(s) to gain sales.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain departments as needed.
- Meet sales goals by following up on quoted opportunities, cross-selling, and closing deals.
- Recognize customers’ needs and / or assist customers through product issues by implementing solutions or providing technical support.
- Attend and exhibit at trade shows within the assigned territory, supporting other territories as needed.
- Travel at least 50% of the time within the assigned territory to represent the company on customer visits to achieve designated sales goals.
- Create and submit travel reports such as trip approvals and expenses.
- Create and maintain a sales budget for assigned territory.
- Train new employees in areas of customer service, sales department process and policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive work environment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements : Education :
Education :
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent skills and experience is required.
Experience :
- 3 years outside sales experience is required with direct account management.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (machining, cost estimating, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of MAPICS software is preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :
- Basic principles of negotiating
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
