Description

Amazon is seeking a talented, self-directed marketing leader to drive awareness and demand generation for Amazon Web Services (AWS) within the state and local government (SLG) and education (EDU) market.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in an exciting, fast growing business.

The Marketing Manager is an integral part of the Public Sector Field Marketing team. The Manager is responsible for developing and delivering aligned marketing programs and will interface directly with the SLG and EDU business and sales stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

Collaborate with business and sales leaders on go-to-market strategy including market segmentation, messaging, marketing channels, and campaign execution.

Develop and execute aligned field marketing plans including digital, content, and events to drive demand generation and pipeline in support of SLG & EDU sales targets.

Leverage and tailor corporate-level product marketing campaigns and materials to accelerate and maximize results in SLG & EDU business.

Communicate regularly with internal business and sales leaders including regular updates with the broader SLG & EDU sales teams.

Ensure SLG & EDU target customers, customer stories, and business priorities are top of mind in all marketing activities.

Earn trust and maintain strong relationships across the organization, working in conjunction with other marketing leaders and with peers.

Monitor and report on campaign results and effectiveness, including ROI and recommended changes as needed.

Willingness and ability to work independently and autonomously.

The right candidate has successful experience in results-driven marketing, specifically field and digital marketing experience and an unbridled passion for technology, accountability, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success.

AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional programs or marketing campaigns from concept to completion

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs

Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation

Excellent oral and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail

Strong team player - comfortable and motivated working in a collaborative environment

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
