We’re hiring an Executive Director, Development and Community Health in Austin, TX.

This position serves in a pivotal leadership role within the community and reports to the Senior Vice President, Development.

The Executive Director (ED) works with the highest-level executives in the Austin community with responsibilities for staffing volunteer Board of Directors and fostering volunteer engagement and development.

The ED also provides strategic direction and management to a fantastic group of committed fundraisers and support staff with overall responsibility for a $2.

4M plus goal. As part of fostering an engaged community, the Executive Director will participate in community and corporate functions that allow for networking and generating new contacts to be part of the Association’s mission and fundraising efforts.

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission.

We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong volunteer relationships through active stewardship and cultivation to accomplish results.
  • Creating a course of action to accomplish fundraising and health goals in support of the mission.
  • Sustaining existing, and building new, corporate partnerships and revenue support through participating in and leading top-level cultivation strategies and engagements.
  • Cultivating major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (of $25,000 or more), and identifying and securing foundation gifts.
  • Creating, leading and coaching a team of fundraisers and support staff to meet the overall goals of the market and mission of the Association.
  • Collaborating with other internal partners, such as our Health Strategies and School Engagement teams to help drive specific cause initiatives in defined markets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising or similar experience.
  • 3 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
  • Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-suite level.
  • Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial.
  • Ability to travel the Austin area daily; always requires access to reliable transportation on an immediate basis.
  • Understanding of how to engage and work within philanthropic communities.
  • Must have basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office.

Work-Life Harmonization The Association offers Paid Time Off (PTO) at a minimum of 16 days per year for new employees. The number of days will increase based on seniority level.
