The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) is seeking a board certified / board eligible general pediatrician to join a dynamic academic work environment with opportunities for inpatient and outpatient practice in close collaboration with other pediatric medi cal and surgical subspecialists.
The position will provide an appointment in the Depart ment of Pediatric and offer am ple opportunity for training of medical students and residents.
The UAB Departments of Pediatrics is consistently among the top NIH funded departments nationally. Childrens of Alabama, the primary practice loca tion for pediatric services at UAB, is one of the ten busiest childrens hospitals in the country.
The Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine is made up of doctors, researchers, nurses, therapists and others who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and management of injuries and conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones and muscles of children and adolescents.
Our division collaborates with other state agencies and community organizations to serve children with disabilities. Together with children and family members, the UAB Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine serves as an advocate for children with disabilities with the goal that each child will be able to achieve the highest level of independent functioning possible.
In partnership with the UAB / Lakeshore Research Collaborative, the division works to develop and evaluate new programmatic / service efforts and supportive technologies as well as to identify and develop meaningful alternatives that improve life for people who have or will face chronic disabling conditions.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A record of interdisciplinary collaboration is desirable.
Salary and tenure status are negotiable based on experience and current academic achievements.
The UAB Department of Pediatrics has nationally recognized expertise and firmly established multidisciplinary programs. This position will provide opportunities for growth of divisional programs as well as opportunities for collaboration with other distinguished programs within UAB.
Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will qualify for an appointment at the Assistant of Associate level within UAB and will be an MD, DO, or MD / PhD who is licensed or eligible for license in the state of Alabama. Preferred Qualifications
